September at Rachel's

For September, I chose Life of Pi for the book. We finally get to close on the house on June 27, so our new address is:

9734 S. Walden Parkway, Chicago, IL 60643

We are a short distance off I-57 between 95th and 99th Streets and one block East of Longwood Drive. You could also come down Cicero or Western Avenues and go East on 95th Street to Longwood Drive. Turn south on Longwood, left at 97th Place and curve onto Walden, which is a one-way street south. We are the second house down from the park and you can park wherever. (Yay!!!)

We'll aim to start about 7:00 pm. Come early if you like!

Resilience - the power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched; elasticity.

As we all transition to new phases of life (marriage, babies, etc.) we have high hopes for the future. However, if it doesn't turn out quite like our dreams we will have to have resilience. I've read the first 50 pages and she has a powerful message; one we will need to carry with us over the next 50 years...

I just realized that I never actually posted this month's book or meeting time on the website! So here it all is...

There's usually plenty of street parking but it's permit, so just park and come up and I will give you a permit to keep the evil parking ticket masters away.
